Quran audio and offline listening

QuraniLingo provides word audio for study and Quran recitation in the reader. Quran text is bundled in the Android app, but the APK does not include every recording. New audio needs an internet connection; recordings saved for offline listening stay on the device where you saved them.

Word audio and recitation serve different purposes

Word audio helps you focus on a particular word while learning vocabulary. Recitation lets you listen to an ayah or passage in context. Neither substitutes for a teacher who can hear and correct your pronunciation. An English gloss or transliteration does not fully represent the recited Arabic.

Open the Quran reader from the Learn section, choose a surah, and use its playback controls. QuraniLingo’s reader includes all 114 surahs. Availability of a particular recording depends on the selected source, your connection and what is saved locally.

Prepare before travelling or losing connectivity

  1. While connected, open the passages you intend to study.
  2. Use the reader’s offline-audio controls to save the recordings you need. Wait for saving to finish; starting playback alone is not proof that a recording has been saved.
  3. Disconnect briefly and check playback on that same device before relying on it away from home.
  4. Keep enough free storage. Browser storage can be cleared by the browser or by device cleanup; a saved recording is not a permanent cloud library.

The browser caches content you have opened, whereas the Android installation includes Quran text. Installing the web app does not download the entire audio catalogue, and audio saved on one device does not automatically appear on another.

If audio does not play

First press Play yourself: browsers can block automatic playback. Check media volume, Bluetooth output and your connection. If one source fails, try another available recording and allow it time to load. Avoid deleting all app data as a first troubleshooting step; doing so can also remove local progress and saved recordings.

You can send private feedback from Progress → Support. Mention the surah, ayah, selected recording and device type, but do not include personal information, passwords or payment details. Anonymous feedback cannot receive a reply.

Will the app play adhan while closed?

The Android app supports optional on-device prayer reminders. Device notification permissions, battery restrictions and system settings can affect delivery. A browser or iPhone Home Screen app cannot reliably schedule background adhan while closed. Do not rely on web audio as an alarm.

Audio, privacy and content notices

Online recordings are requested from their hosting sources, which may receive normal network-request information. Optional Google Analytics is off until you allow it and does not receive your selected ayat, search text or recordings. Read the privacy notice and content licence notices. Copyright and distribution permissions differ by source; offline app storage does not grant permission to republish recordings.
